Three new vice-principals at the helm of RGU

Robert Gordon University (RGU) has made three senior appointments to its leadership team.

Jan Cutting has joined the university as Vice-Principal for Commercial and Regional Engagement; Mark Sollis has taken up the role of Vice-Principal for University Advancement; and Vicki Nairn has been appointed as Vice-Principal for Corporate Operations.

The trio have joined the executive team at the helm of RGU, and together with the Deputy Principal, Professor John Harper, and the Vice-Principal for Research, Professor Paul Hagan, will support the Principal, Professor von Prondzynski, in ensuring that the university achieves the vision, mission and strategic goals approved by the Board of Governors.

With an extensive career in branding and marketing, most recently with Scottish Enterprise, Jan Cutting is well placed to promote RGU’s reputation as a leading university, building on its presence in the North East and ensuring it continues to play a vital role in the region, while delivering on its commercialisation strategy.

Mark Sollis has joined RGU from the University of Calgary, and brings with him a wealth of experience in strategic external and alumni relations. Mark’s main focus will be advancing RGU by leading its fundraising, communications and alumni engagement efforts.

Vicki Nairn has spent the last 11 years at the Highland Council where she drove business and cultural transformation, growth and improvement. She will take charge of the university’s corporate operations, overseeing the delivery of its finance, human resources, estates, and IT strategies to ensure its long term sustainability.

RGU’s Principal, Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, said: “I am delighted with the appointments and warmly welcome our three new vice-principals to my leadership team.

“Together with the entire RGU community we will ensure that we continue to develop the very best student experience and high quality education in our international university, as well as build a growing reputation for doing smart business and providing strong leadership in our region.”
