Aberdeen businesswoman, Gillian Thomson has emerged triumphant at the prestigious Business Women Scotland/Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards 2018, picking up a national accolade.
Gillian beat off stiff competition from all across the country to be selected as a joint winner in the Board Member of the Year category, having been nominated by Linda Gray, CEO of Inspire (Partnership through Life) Ltd.
Linda said; “Gillian has been a Board member for 4 years, has Chaired our People committee for the last two years and is currently Vice Chair of the Board. This is a voluntary position, and Gillian gives freely of her time – she is a most deserving winner!”

Gillian, who runs a boutique HR & Leadership Development company, notes; “It’s humbling to be recognised in this way because what inspires me perhaps more than anything is the people we support, and our staff who support them. It’s a pleasure to be involved with Inspire, as it is an organisation which is really making a difference to people’s lives every day, and that really has given me a very different perspective.”
Now in their second year of collaboration, the BWS/WES Awards are hosted jointly by Scotland’s two leading female business organisations, each dedicated to helping women find support and networking opportunities to allow them to strengthen their business. With the awards, BWS and WES collaborate to celebrate the ongoing achievements of Scottish women in business.
