An Aberdeen facility offering care for the elderly has beaten off stiff competition to pick up a major industry award.
Rubislaw Park Care Home was recently named as the winner of Care Home of the Year – Scotland at the 2018 Caring UK Awards ceremony in Leicester.
The news follows the facility’s success in 2017 when it was shortlisted in the Dementia Care Team category and won the Catering Team of the Year section.
Now in their second year, the Caring UK Awards recognise excellence and achievement within the care sector across the UK. The awards are organised by Script Events in conjunction with leading care industry magazine Caring UK, with support from headline sponsor Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank.
Rubislaw Park Care Home has been the subject of multimillion-pound investment since its acquisition by family-run business Rubislaw Care LLP. It recently opened a £2 million extension which has created an additional 16 rooms plus associated dining, social and recreational areas for residents. Around 20 new jobs will be created at the award-winning facility which holds grade five and six status from its most recent routine inspection by the Care Inspectorate.
Commenting on the facility’s success in the Caring UK Awards, Director of Care Kristin Jackson-Brown said: “Winning this award is an exciting end to a wonderful year for everyone on the team. Our staff work tirelessly to deliver services of an exceptionally high standard and this win is great recognition for their tremendous efforts, day in and day out.”
Caring UK Awards event director Judith Halkerston said: “All our winners have had an arduous journey to this point – the standard of entries was overwhelming and every facility that walked away with an award should be extremely proud.”
“Our awards’ night was an amazing celebration of the caring industry as a whole – it was lovely to see everyone having such a great time and receiving the recognition that they rightly deserve.”
