From Monday, 21 January 2019, passengers travelling to Newcastle from Aberdeen Monday to Thursday will have the choice of up to four flight times.  This is also complemented by the Durham Tees Valley service, providing Aberdeen with up to seven flights a day in total to the north-east of England.

With an approximate journey time of just an hour, peak weekday flights depart Aberdeen for Newcastle at 6.45am, 12 noon, 4.30pm and 7.55pm.  The airline continues to offer a weekend service on Sundays.

The UK airline currently operates two flights daily between Aberdeen and Newcastle.

The regional operator continues to provide Aberdeen with a link to London City with two flights each weekday in both directions via Newcastle. Passengers remain on board the aircraft for the short stop as it drops off and picks up passengers in Newcastle.

Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ General Manager Operations, said: “After a strong start to bookings in 2019, we have significantly increased our Aberdeen to Newcastle service with some weekday customers now having double the amount of flights to choose from, thanks to our Monday-Thursday services operating four times daily from Aberdeen.

“We know the Newcastle and Durham Tees Valley services to Aberdeen are heavily relied upon by those working in the oil and gas sector, and with the latest industry survey* revealing the highest levels of confidence in business since 2013, we’re very pleased to help meet the demands in the sector.”

Steve Szalay, Aberdeen International Airport Managing Director said: “Newcastle has strong links with the energy sector and is therefore an essential destination for our business passengers. It is also a great location for a weekend break, consistently voted as one of the best in the UK. We look forward to welcoming our passengers to the newly upgraded terminal when the increased number of flights begins later this month.”
