With client numbers growing across its four offices, a North-east accountancy firm has recruited a key position to bolster its team.

SBP Accountants and Tax Advisers has taken on Stephen Glanas to join the team in the city’s Queen’s Road headquarters as client manager.

The company, which works with a number of high profile north-east businesses, ranging from sole traders to corporate businesses, increased its customer base following a six-figure acquisition of Aberdeen business Norman Gray & Co earlier this year.

It was the largest acquisition to date for SBP, which also bought over Andrew Philip Accountants in 2015 and the move increased the firm’s client fee turnover to circa £3.2million.

The appointment boosts employee numbers to 46 and six partners across its four bases in Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Banff.

Managing partner of SBP, John Hannah, said: “It’s been a particularly busy year for SBP with the acquisition, and we invested in excess of £1m into our new Aberdeen headquarters.  As we continue to grow our client numbers we strive to attract the best talent to ensure that we can continue to deliver the personal service that our customers across the North-east expect.

“Stephen will be a great addition to the team as we move into 2019 and look to further expand with a particular focus on the Fraserburgh office in the coming months.”
