Aberdeen charity Announces The Return Of Its Annual Golf Day To Raise Vital Funds For The Charity

28/03/2024

The Archie Foundation’s tee-rific annual corporate Golf Day will return bigger and better than ever before, to help raise virtual funds to support families in the North-east.

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, May 30, at the picturesque Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Course, and with a new shotgun format.

Golf lovers are being encouraged to sign up for a day of Scotland’s national sport. Four-ball team packages start from £1,000, which includes an 18-hole round, breakfast and refreshments, plus a delicious BBQ dinner at the hotel, where there will be a live auction and raffle.

Organisers are also calling on any local business to donate prizes and experiences to the auction ahead of the event, with sponsorship packages available.

Money raised will all go towards the Archie Foundation, the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Hospital. It exists to transform experiences and outcomes in healthcare by offering financial and bereavement support for families across the North of Scotland, including Aberdeen, Elgin, Inverness, and Dundee.

It also helps with specialist training, securing equipment and sourcing hospital accommodation for families in need.

The charity’s vision is that all children in the region will have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support, delivered in a child-appropriate environment and manner.

Cassie McGunnigle, fundraising manager at The Archie Foundation said: “We have been holding the annual Golf Day since 2021 to raise as much funds as possible for the babies and children we support at Archie. Any money raised will go directly to funding our services, which are crucial for families in times of need.

“We are incredibly grateful to anyone planning to attend this fantastic day of golf at Meldrum House and to the local community here in the North-east who support Archie’s fundraising efforts.”

Alan Pearson, CEO of TAQA Completions, which is sponsoring the event, said: “Anyone who has taken part in one of the golf days previously knows how great fun it is, but importantly, there is a serious cause behind the day, as we look to raise as much money as possible for the Archie Foundation, an invaluable service offered in the North-east, Highlands, Islands and Tayside.

“I’d encourage anyone to consider getting involved, no matter their playing level. It is an ideal team-building activity, or an opportunity to get a group of friends together for a chance to spend the day in a stunning setting with a bit of friendly competition.”
