Digital media producer SIGNAL2NOISE has been appointed to create a series of films over the next 18 months for the Aberdeen Harbour Board.

SIGNAL2NOISE will produce a number of news bulletins and documentaries covering the construction of Aberdeen’s new South Harbour. This multi-million-pound development will create an expanded harbour at Nigg Bay that, together with the existing North Harbour, will be the largest in Scotland, in terms of berthage.

The films will cover a wide range of topics, including: the technical challenges of such a large construction project, and stories from the people working on it; the extraordinary 900-year history of the Aberdeen Harbour Board and its contribution to the culture and prosperity of the city; the impact of the harbour on the people who have lived near or worked at the harbour; the local organisations that benefit from the Harbour charitable donations; and the environmental work being done to protect and conserve local wildlife and the marine environment for years to come.

Chris Bain, External Relations Director at Aberdeen Harbour Board said: “The new harbour development will massively expand our capacity and create fantastic new opportunities for the city, securing Aberdeen role as the UK¹s energy port and as an international trading hub. We wanted to preserve such an important moment in our long history and we are excited to have a local company, SIGNAL2NOISE, to help us tell our story.

Mark Turner, Creative Director at SIGNAL2NOISE said, “These new films will be an invaluable record of an ambitious and significant construction project.

This is a unique opportunity to tell the story of the city and its people. We are proud to be involved in preserving the South Harbour project for future generations to use.
