Oil and gas completions company Vulcan Completion Products (VCP) is eyeing growth in Asia thanks to a key appointment and the creation of a strategic alliance.

Based in Westhill, VCP has appointed technical account manager Nur Syazana Ishak to head up its new Kuala Lumpur office, where a recently formed alliance has secured a five-year contract.  In teaming up with Malaysian company AMPI Synergy, VCP has been able to land this and other significant pieces of work with major operators in the region.

Specialising in design, manufacture and application Vulcan Completion Products (VCP) draws on more than a century of combined industry experience to offer bespoke, innovative and ground-breaking solutions to explore new frontiers in application-based engineering solutions around the world. From centralisation, reamer and guide shoes to float equipment, cement plugs, stop collars and cable protectors VCP’s emphasis lies firmly on being a quality service provider, consistently exceeding client expectations.

Commenting on the news, Vulcan Completion Products’ founder Ian Kirk said: “Although we are a fairly new company, our relationship with AMPI Synergy stretches back 20 years so we are delighted to build on that by combining our resources and expertise.

“This agreement enables AMPI Synergy to have access to our equipment, and us to tap into their deep and thorough local knowledge.  We are confident that this combination will prove invaluable in helping us to fulfil our international growth ambitions.”

APMI Synergy CEO Khalid Sani added: “We are excited to be appointed the exclusive agent for Vulcan Completion Products for the Malaysian oil and gas market. Our team has had a long working relationship with Ian Kirk and Mark Dundee through previous engagements and we are delighted to be collaborating once again.

“We are confident that with AMPI’s knowledge of the local market coupled with VCP’s innovative product lines, we are able to provide cost-effective completion solutions for our clients in Malaysia. This comes at a good time as drilling activities have been picking in 2019.

“VCP has recently appointed Nur Syazana Ishak, who brings over 10 years of experience in the Malaysian completion products industry. I am therefore confident that AMPI and VCP’s collaboration will provide our clients with the best support and services.”
