Aberdeen Restaurant Week gets underway next week

Aberdeen Restaurant Week gets underway in the city next week with more than 35 restaurants taking part.

Organised by Aberdeen Inspired, the event is taking place on Monday July 15 and runs until Sunday July 21.

Kate Timperley, Aberdeen Inspired Senior Project Manager, said: “Aberdeen’s restaurant offering is incredibly diverse, it boasts some of the country’s best chefs, as well as award-winning bars and eateries. Aberdeen Restaurant Week makes it even easier to enjoy the fantastic variety of eateries we have in the city centre, all for a set price.

“There is something for everyone, whether you are looking for a treat for the family, a meal out with friends, or something different for a special occasion. All of our participating restaurants have provided great menus for the week, and we would urge the public to book quickly to avoid missing out.

“This time around, we have some exciting new additions, with highlights including a Malaysian version of the traditional afternoon tea courtesy of Selera Malaysia Bistro and a themed concept menu from SNEAP among many others. This is a great chance to support local and try something new, all while exploring your city.”

Restaurants taking part in Aberdeen Restaurant Week are: Carmelite Bar and Grill, Prezzo Marischal Square, Brewdog Castlegate, Foodstory, Native Hilton Garden Inn, Selera Malaysia Bistro, Bistro Verde , The Spiritualist, Howies, The Lounge Bar and Kitchen, Station Hotel, Kirk View Café, Chaophraya, Topolabamba, Café Andaluz, SNEAP pop-up at So…, Thaikhun, Revolucion de Cuba,Revolution, Mackies 19.2, Craftsman, Di Maggios, Da Vinci, Hop and Anchor, Ferryhill House Hotel, The Stag, McGinty’s Meal an’ Ale, Molly’s Bistro, Atlantis Restaurant, City Bar and Diner, Café 52, Shri Bheemas, The Braided Fig, Café Boheme, Jack’s Steakhouse, AVO/Sear concept and the Copthorne Hotel. 

Normala Abdul Rahman, of Selera Malaysia Bistro, added: “Participating in Aberdeen Restaurant Week is like taking on a challenge and one we always enjoy. With the presence of the big crowd coming to dine in, we get to test our capability of serving our patrons effectively and efficiently.  More importantly, we get the chance to promote our cuisines and culture to a larger and more diversified crowd. The best part for us is getting to show Aberdonians and the world our talent and what we can do.”

The pricing structure for Aberdeen Restaurant Week consists of a two-course lunch priced at £10 per person and three-course dinner for £20 per person. Additional elements introduced including afternoon teas, drink pairing menus and tasting menus are priced separately.
