Bancon Construction has secured a raft of new contracts worth more than £20million, including significant wins in Inverness.

The company has been awarded affordable housing contracts in Inverness with Albyn Housing for 46 units at Torbreck and 36 units at Kinmylies for Highland Council, as well as 12 units for Angus Council in the village of Newtyle.

Bancon Construction has also been awarded a contract to convert the former Inverness College into the Highland’s first major creative hub on behalf of Wasp Studios.

The vacant category B-listed Victorian Midmills building will include workspaces for creative industries, exhibitions, events and meeting rooms.

Further contracts have also been awarded to the company by Aberdeenshire Council for alterations to Portlethen Primary School and Fraserburgh Academy, and window replacements for Arbroath and Carnoustie High Schools by Angus Council.

Additional work with commercial clients is also currently under negotiation.

Gavin Currie, managing director of Bancon Construction said “These are significant new business wins and we are delighted to be working with both new clients and valued repeat customers.

“Having a strong and open relationship with our clients is essential and we very much look forward to delivering these projects for them as we expand our geographic area of operation.”

Based at Burnett House in Banchory, Bancon Construction is one of Scotland’s most established and respected construction companies, with a turnover of £35million, 90 employees and a 40-year history.

Clients include healthcare, leisure and hotels, education, retail, commercial, industrial and residential property organisations, as well as central and local government.
