Start-up consultancy Lindsay & Lang has achieved Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) accreditation for their First Aid for Mental Health training courses.
The recent achievement further bolsters their Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) accreditation ensuring the nationally recognised courses provide assessable content to demonstrate learning and understanding for Mental Health First Aid in the workplace.
Founded by Communications Professional, Fiona Lindsay, and HR Professional, Louise Jenkins-Lang, Lindsay & Lang deliver development, wellbeing and communication services to enhance personal and business performance. With a shared drive to support the wellbeing and mental health of employees, the unique consultancy was born when the two specialists joined forces to create an end-to-end service which promotes conversations with impact.
Commenting on the accreditation, Fiona Lindsay said: “This is a great achievement for Lindsay & Lang and reinforces our beliefs that the road to business success can only be achieved through people that are professionally, personally and emotionally supported. This is a huge step in the right direction, and we are dedicated to promoting greater awareness of the mental health and wellbeing topic, which in turn will help to reduce existing stigma and misconceptions.”
Louise Jenkins-Lang added: “We are especially proud that the training we deliver is nationally recognised and the qualifications offered are fully regulated by SCQF Accreditation and First Aid Awards (FAA). This provides UK clients with the relevant qualification in their area without compromising content and the qualification sits alongside competency systems and technical SVQ/RQF’s. This paired with personal and professional workplace experience further enhances learning.”
Jason Best, Accountable Officer for FAA further commented: “FAA provide a simple approach to regulating accreditations and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation in response to market demand. We see the new SCQF accreditation as an important platform to promote positive understanding and conversation around mental health and wellbeing. Lindsay & Lang are making great strides in highlighting the challenges and impact, enabling businesses to raise questions and understand more about their employees’ wellbeing.”
