The only official UK distributor of Poly-net products has established her base in Aberdeen as she looks to break into what she sees as an untapped market in the north-east.
Anne Esson became the only official supplier for the protective netting product, when a company buyout left NSW GMBH, the German-based manufacture of the plastic, with no distribution network in the UK.
Despite promising potential for the sale of the netting on a country-wide scale, Anne has chosen to remain based in Aberdeen. Establishing her own company, Protect-Net, to begin selling the product herself.
Anne landed the distribution deal with NSW GMBH after her long-standing relationship with the German corporation, which was where she started her career in 1997 as a sales co-ordinator. Since then she climbed her way up the company ladder to the stage where she was running accounts and working closely with the Managing Director.
Now running her own company, she is eager to establish herself and create new relationships with businesses throughout the north-east.
The product itself, is used to wrap around delicate cargo, such as intricate machine parts to keep them safe whilst in transit. Despite its wide range of applicability, there has never been a sustained campaign to market the product to companies in the UK and the north-east and as a result, Anne sees opportunity for growth.
Anne said, ‘I’m really excited to tap into the potential that Aberdeen shows for this product, these types of plastic netting can bring with them a range of benefits for the engineering sector, and I’m committed to creating business in Aberdeen and excited to see how much Protect-Net can grow.’
