North East Triangle (NET) Development Solutions Ltd has been launched to offer companies in North East Scotland an alternative to people development solutions.

A consortium of five independent small businesses, NET Development Solutions Ltd was established with support from Scottish Enterprise to offer leadership development services to large organisations that historically source out of town consultants for people development support.

One of five founding directors, Brian Shanks explains: “We are local people with knowledge and understanding of this unique part of the country.  As ‘shop local’ is encouraged in other sectors, we wondered why out-of-town consultants are hired to provide people development solutions to companies in the North East, when local talent can deliver a world-class high-quality service to rival it.  We came to the realisation that many skilled leadership development professionals are independent consultants and that a safe option is out-of-town providers, so we established NET Development Solutions to provide an alternative.

“Our blend of expertise offers companies in the North East of Scotland a cost-effective alternative for high-quality people development solutions, and our combined 100+ years’ experience is drawn from all sectors: private, public and third sector.”

Gill Joy, adviser for Co-operative Development Scotland (Scottish Enterprise) that provides support for collaboration, continued: “It is common to use a consortium model as a means of scaling a business quickly to win a large contract.  It has been my pleasure to offer support to establish NET as from the outset I could see that they were a perfect fit for collaborating using the CDS model. They each bring a range of complementary skills and different styles and are bound by strong sense of shared values and ethics. I believe they will disrupt how leadership development is delivered in the North East and look forward to following their journey.”
