Nominations are now open for the 2020 Subsea UK Awards which will recognise companies and individuals who are leading the way in the UK’s £7.5billion subsea sector.

Entries are being sought for the best subsea company of the year award, which is sponsored by the Oil & Gas Authority, and the young emerging talent award, which is sponsored by SMD. The evening will also recognise achievements in innovation with the innovation for safety award, which is sponsored by Boskalis, and the innovation and technology award, which is sponsored by Simmons & Co International.

Companies are also being invited to put forward nominations for the best small company and global exports awards. An individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the subsea industry will be recognised on the night, this award is decided by a panel and is not open to nominations.

The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at P&J Live on Wednesday, 12 February during Subsea Expo, the world’s largest annual subsea conference and exhibition. The deadline for entries is Friday, 8 November.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “Every year we are impressed by the quality of award applications we receive as they highlight the ambition of the UK subsea sector. This year has seen companies begin to embrace the new optimism across the industry, with bold moves in innovation and growth across the supply chain.

“We are sure that the Subsea UK Awards 2020 will reflect this buoyant mood and we look forward to celebrating the success of the sector at what is always an excellent event.”

Last year’s awards, attended by more than 600 industry professionals, saw Motive Offshore Group crowned subsea company of the year, and Jim Milne, managing director of Balmoral Group, recognised for his outstanding contribution to the sector.

Subsea Expo will take place from the 11 – 13 February 2020 at Aberdeen’s new state of the art entertainment venue, P&J Live. With the theme of New Perspectives, the event will debate and examine key industry topics including how the sector is evolving with the energy transition.
