TWO former colleagues who started their careers together over 20 years ago have launched a Managed Print Services business in Aberdeen, supporting devices on offshore assets and vessels with over 40 customers already secured in the region.

Scott Simpson and Graham Gray have formed Carbon – an Aberdeen-based Managed Print Services specialist for all sizes of businesses both onshore and offshore. With a team of six based in its office/ warehouse in Altens, Aberdeen, the company plans to grow its staff to 10 in 2020 and has secured sole dealerships with printing giants HP and Kyocera.

Scott and Graham were integral in the expansion of Aberdeen-based company Capture Imaging Solutions which was sold to Japanese firm Konica Minolta in 2016.  With over 600 clients at the time, the duo went on to work for Konica Minolta before setting up Carbon to provide a local, responsive and proactive service to businesses in the region.

Co-founder, Scott Simpson, said: “Graham and I began our careers in the service and print solutions industry together and have worked with a range of oil and gas organisations that rely on our expertise and customer service.  Having our own business means we can really deliver on what we believe is important – a responsive, flexible and sustainable service to our energy clients, ensuring they have full management and visibility of their printing spend.”

Co-founder, Graham Gray, said: “Securing tier-one manufacturers HP and Kyocera as our key partners allows us to provide the very best technology and products to our client base.  We’re delighted to be working with historic clients as well as new customers who want a local and reliable printing service that ensures minimal disruption to their day-to-day business operations.”

With an increasing aim for businesses to have full visibility of printing and control of the cost attached to this, Carbon has also secured a partnership with software firm PaperCut, a tool to track and monitor all printing and cost in organisations.
