ABERDEENSHIRE-based access specialists AquaTerra have unveiled a significant addition to their product suite, becoming one of just a handful of providers of the system in the UK.

The firm has invested in excess of £500,000 in a new underdeck access system which offers a cost-effective alternative to scaffolding.

The patented QuikDeck solution facilitates faster erection and dismantling, particularly for underdeck applications, allowing increased efficiency and competitive scopes such as conductors and caissons construction.

QuikDeck has already been successfully deployed by Kintore-based AquaTerra, for decommissioning and fabric maintenance projects in the North Sea and the company is now working towards using it in the civil sector for bridge access work.

The latest news follows the announcement earlier this year that AquaTerra had acquired the trade and assets of Subsea Engineering and Technical Services (SETS), a well-established organisation which focused on conductor integrity and management solutions.

Peter Robinson, AquaTerra Group managing director, said: “We had a project lined up which we knew would benefit from the system, and we also saw an opportunity to expand our offering with this addition.

“To date, QuikDeck has proved to be an advantageous step forward in the range we can offer our customers and we are confident that the system will play an important role in the future growth of the company.”
