NE wedding industry welcomes new award scheme

An awards event aimed at the wedding industry in the North of Scotland has proved a massive hit with both the industry and the brides and grooms who married in the area over the past year.

The ‘Top Tier Awards’ gala dinner has taken place for the first time and was attended by over 250 wedding industry suppliers and venues.

Married couples voted for the top three suppliers they used on their big day awarding gold, silver and bronze votes.

The organizers were delighted to receive over 1500 votes since the launch in February. From those votes almost one hundred North of Scotland wedding venues or suppliers were shortlisted in twenty categories. It all culminated in the awards ceremony at a Gala Ball at the weekend.

The awards were hosted by Aberdeen based entertainment and events company Elite Promotions. John Anderson a partner with Elite said “The North of Scotland based wedding suppliers and venues have been talking about their own awards scheme for a number of year’s so we decided to host it this year to determine the response. From the day we announced the awards the feedback has been extremely positive. For a wedding to be a success multi national venues and small local independent suppliers all need to work together adding their individual skills to achieve the desired result.

“These awards recognize the hard work and creativity of all those involved. We have always believed the North of Scotland boasts many fantastic wedding venues and suppliers and this scheme is a way for the happy couples to thank those who they considered to be their top providers. One lucky couple who voted were also winners when their vote was pulled out of the hat to win themselves a three night break in either Palma or Alicante. We have been delighted with the response and although we may change one or two things slightly I can confirm the awards will now become an annual event with the launch of the 2018 awards early in the new year. ”
