A Welcome Winter Boost for North East as Aberdeen Health & Wellbeing Festival Returns This Saturday
The Aberdeen Health & Wellbeing Festival is set to take place This Saturday at the Beach Ballroom, offering a timely and much-needed opportunity for people across the North East to refocus on their health and wellbeing following the festive season.
Despite the recent heavy snowfall across Aberdeen, organisers have confirmed that the free event will go ahead as planned, with additional safety measures in place to ensure a safe and welcoming experience for all attendees.
Running from 9am to 5pm, the festival brings together expert talks, interactive workshops and a vibrant wellbeing marketplace, all designed to help people learn more about looking after their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
The event welcomes support from Main Sponsors Peloton and Rayonex Biomedical, with additional support from AKR Fitness as Education Sponsor, and Spear as Workshops Sponsor. This will be the first time that global fitness brand, Peloton, has supported an event of this kind in Scotland, and they will be running a series of live classes throughout the day, offering festival-goers a chance to experience their innovative approach to movement and motivation.
Co-founded by Sarah Stewart and Dr Emma Windle, the festival was created to make health and wellbeing accessible to everyone, offering practical, evidence-based advice in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
“After the indulgence of Christmas and with winter weather at its toughest, this festival couldn’t come at a better time,” said Sarah Stewart, co-founder of the event. “People are often looking for small, realistic ways to feel better, rather than drastic changes. This festival is about learning, connecting and finding what works for you.”
This year’s programme reflects some of the most talked-about topics in health and wellbeing, including mental health, maintaining a healthy weight, gut health, sustainable fitness, menopause, and stress management.
Speakers include leading academics, clinicians and wellbeing professionals alongside well-known fitness instructors, offering a blend of scientific insight and practical advice.
Alongside the talks, festival-goers can take part in a wide range of free workshops and classes designed for all ages and fitness levels. From strength sessions to yoga, breathwork, dance fitness, posture workshops, mindset coaching, laughter yoga and relaxation, attendees can choose activities that allow them to move, reset and recharge at their own pace.
Dr Emma Windle, co-founder of the festival, said: “We know January can feel overwhelming for many people. This event is designed to feel supportive, not intimidating. Whether you come to listen, move, ask questions or simply soak up the atmosphere, there’s something here for everyone.”
The festival will also feature a bustling wellbeing marketplace, with over sixty stallholders including health professionals, therapists, charities, and local wellbeing businesses. Attendees will be able to speak directly with experts, learn about local services, try products and discover new ways to support their wellbeing within the community.
In Case You Missed it:
Organisers are liaising with the venue to ensure that the event can take place safely in the wintry condition. Attendees are encouraged to travel safely and allow extra time for journeys. “The safety of our visitors, speakers, and stallholders is our priority,” added Sarah and Emma. “The venue is well prepared, and we’re looking forward to welcoming people into a warm, supportive space This Saturday.”
