A new football anthem celebrating Aberdeen FC’s historic European triumphs has brought together club legends, musicians and supporters, while raising more than £10,000 for charity.

Two Stars on Our Chest, written and arranged by songwriter David Sheret of Finn Moray, pays tribute to the club’s iconic 1983 European victories. The track features Aberdeen-born singer Terry McDermott, known for his appearance on NBC’s The Voice, alongside his band, The Algiers.

The release is being Gold Sponsored by capital project management firm Camm-Pro, forming part of a wider good-cause partnership that will also support Finn Moray’s upcoming songs Muddy Bay and Foggie, inspired by Shetland and Aberchirder.

The recording brings together a host of well-known names connected to the club, including Aberdeen legends John Hewitt, Jim Leighton and Neil Simpson, as well as golfer Paul Lawrie, broadcaster Richard Gordon, club staff, supporters and the Finn Moray Red Army Chorus.

Funds generated through the initiative have already surpassed £10,000 this year, benefiting Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation.

The anthem will be performed live at Pittodrie by Terry McDermott and The Algiers during half-time of Aberdeen’s opening Premiership match against Hearts on Saturday, 1 August 2026. The celebrations will continue later that evening with a fundraising gig at OGV Podium in Aberdeen city centre.

Supporters are being encouraged to contribute £19.83 in tribute to the club’s landmark year, while businesses can join as official partners with a £1,983 contribution. All supporters donating will receive a digital download of the song.

Two Stars On Our Chest

Peter Davidson said: “This is a fitting celebration of one of the greatest achievements in Scottish football history. The two stars represent an extraordinary team and a period that still means so much to supporters. What makes this project even more special is that it is also supporting Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation.”

Simon McBain, Managing Director of Camm-Pro, added: “We are delighted to be involved not only with Two Stars on Our Chest, but also with Muddy Bay and Foggie. Camm-Pro already supports a number of charities through the business, and this good-cause sponsorship gives us another positive way to build on that commitment.

“By supporting these songs, we can help celebrate communities, create opportunities for artists and use the profile generated by the music to provide further support for good causes. That combination of music, community and positive social impact is something we are very pleased to be part of.”

The project also highlights a modern approach to music production. Initially written as a fully human composition, Sheret collaborated with double Latin Grammy Award-winning producer Mariano Beyoglonian to create an early demo using AI tools and digital audio workstations. The AI-generated elements were later replaced with live performances by McDermott and The Algiers, with final production, mixing and mastering completed by double Grammy Award-winning producer Justin Armstrong.

David Sheret said: “Some people find the project difficult to understand at first, perhaps because the debate around AI has become so polarised. We’re open about embracing it as a positive creative tool, not to replace artists, but to help ideas take shape, uncover talent and create opportunities for people.

“We then replaced the demo AI voice with Terry and the digital instruments with The Algiers. That is what Finn Moray is about. We use technology not to replace artists, but to find them, create opportunities, showcase their talent and help good causes.

“We are hugely grateful to Simon and everyone at Camm-Pro for supporting the song. Their involvement will help us take its message to a wider audience while raising greater awareness and support for the good causes at the heart of the campaign.

“The result is a fully human performance celebrating a remarkable Aberdeen team and supporting two organisations doing important work. To have Terry and The Algiers perform the song live at Pittodrie during the opening game of the season will be an incredibly special moment.”

All funds raised through the official campaign will go directly to Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation.
