Specsavers Aberdeen audiology team is celebrating as three team members have achieved impressive new qualifications.

Emma Morrison, Tyne McClarey, and Kate Kulesza, who work at Specsavers Union Street store, all have cause for celebration.

Emma and Tyne, who have both worked at Specsavers Aberdeen for three years have achieved their Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD) qualification, whilst Kate, who has been with Specsavers for 10 years, has built on her previous Hearing Care Assistant (HCA) qualification to achieve her HAD.

As a qualified hearing aid dispenser, Emma, Tyne and Kate can fit, test, and dispense hearing devices, run hearing assessments, and provide aftercare to customers. Thanks to both qualifications, Kate can also dispense and service hearing devices for customers.

Specsavers Aberdeen has invested £50,000 in the team through courses and qualifications, with the aim of helping team members improve their skills both personally and professionally.

The high street retailer has many different career path options from those leaving school to those looking for a career in optometry, audiology or retail. Emma joined the store straight after leaving secondary school and quickly started the HAD course after showing interest and potential, whilst Tyne previously worked for Specsavers Coleraine, then Specsavers in Australia, and knew the next step for her was to complete the HAD qualification after moving to the Aberdeen store.
Meanwhile Kate is now interested in becoming a clinical lead and is starting a sign language course.

Ian McLellan, audiology director at Specsavers Aberdeen, commented: “We are so pleased to have so many talented colleagues who are continuously working hard, achieving qualifications and hitting new milestones.

Seeing Emma and Tyne completing their HAD qualifications is brilliant, we’re proud to see them solidifying their experience as newly qualified HADs.

Kate being both HCA and HAD qualified is a huge achievement. It’s great to see her continuing to add to her skills by starting a sign language course. Their hard work has all paid off, and they should be very proud of themselves!

At Specsavers, we believe the opportunities are endless. Whether you’re starting out or looking for something new, career progression is there for those who want it.”
