HOME-Start Aberdeen is one of three good causes across the North of Scotland that have won a share of a £25,000 funding pot, thanks to Scotmid’s Community Connect award initiative.
Home-Start Aberdeen supports families on a low income to shop, cook and eat more healthily. Good nutrition is a key building block in a child’s early development and the charity’s Recipe for Life Project helps parents and carers develop their cooking skills and confidence and gain a better understanding of how to improve their family’s diet. The project will receive £5,000 from Scotmid.
Alasdair MacRae, Home-Start Aberdeen, said: “We’re extremely grateful for Scotmid’s support in our efforts to help families across Aberdeen who are struggling with the cost of living. This funding means we can cover the costs of food packs and kitchen equipment for 20 families”.
