OVER 500 young people from across the city are preparing to take centre stage at the Aberdeen City Music Service’s Winter Festival Concert tomorrow (13th December).
Pupils ranging from age 7 to 18 will be taking part in performances to showcase their musical talents.
The night will feature beginner, intermediate and senior performances from brass ensembles, string ensembles, pianists, choirs, guitarists, and bagpipes.
Aberdeen City Council Education Convener, Councillor Martin Greig said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to display the talent of our young people from across the city and demonstrate the great work of our music service.
“Thank you to all involved for their hard work planning and delivering the concert, this really helps our aspirations to make Aberdeen a centre for music.”
Education vice-convener Councillor Jessica Mennie said: “What a wonderful festive treat to see our talented pupils show off their hard work and dedication to their musical interests from throughout the term.
“It’s also fantastic to have pupils of all ages and musical abilities come together. Good luck to everyone taking part!”
Previously held virtually due to the pandemic, this year’s concert will include live and pre-recorded performances from all pupils across the city.
The finale will involve all pupils coming together for a performance of Highland Cathedral.
Aberdeen City Music Service’s Winter Festival Concert will take place at the Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen on Tuesday the 13th of December.
