Stephen Flynn of the Scottish National Party (SNP) has been elected as the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine following the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary election.

The constituency recorded an electorate of 62,985, with 34,669 votes cast, representing a turnout of 55.04%.

Flynn secured 11,788 votes, accounting for 34.11% of the vote share, placing him ahead of Scottish Conservative candidate Liam Kerr, who received 10,544 votes (30.51%).

Reform UK’s Duncan Massey finished third with 6,113 votes (17.69%), while Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate Mel Sullivan received 2,880 votes (8.33%). Scottish Labour’s Matthew Lee polled 2,805 votes (8.12%), and independent candidate Iris Alexandra Leask secured 431 votes (1.25%).

Flynn’s result confirms him as the duly elected MSP for the constituency.
