ABERDEEN-headquartered energy consultancy Xodus Group has seen a major increase in its subsea power cable work during the last twelve months.
The number of new assignments for the firm, based in Huntly Street, grew by more than 50%, resulting in more than 70 active work streams in 2019.

Xodus, which also has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Orkney, London, Egypt and Australia, has also increased its staff numbers with more than 30 permanent workers with subsea cables experience.
The company recently signed a three-year service agreement to provide, investigate, maintain and repair (IMR) engineering services for submarine cable assets in North America and is in final discussions for a similar framework in Europe.
James Hunt, Xodus interconnectors & cables lead, said: “This year brings seabed leasing application deadlines for ScotWind and round 4 in the UK, as well as the development of offshore wind projects in Europe, Asia and North America. Coupling this with increasing demand for offshore power transmission networks, we are forecasting further growth in this sector.
“These are significant projects for us. With the increase in transmission cables across the globe, the expanding demand in the requirement for these services delivering for owners, operators and investors will parallel this growth.”
