Nicole Blyth, founder of innovative social-network app, RelocateGuru, has been chosen as one of only a handful of female entrepreneurs to visit Dubai to meet key industry contacts and investors.

The trip is part of the AccelerateHER awards, a competition organised by Scotland’s only all-female business angel group, Investing Women.

With the majority of the businesswomen coming from the central belt, Nicole is the only entrepreneur to be representing Aberdeen in the Dubai Trip.

When asked about the trip she said, “I’m so excited to visit Dubai, the opportunities to network and build lasting international connections is invaluable.”

Nicole first had the idea for RelocateGuru when she was moving home, and found herself at a loss without local knowledge of the area. “I was just wishing for an app where all the information I needed was in one place, so I created RelocateGuru to do exactly that!”

The app, which is free to download, allows users to add insider information about their local area. Highlighting the best place to go for coffee, or the best local bakery. Nicole added that her desire is for the app to help everyone feel welcome and at home, wherever they are.

Nicole’s mission is to help people feel a part of the communities they move into and connect with the locals by using RelocateGuru. The app also aims to help boost local economies by supporting and giving a platform to local businesses.

The competition, which is has been run for three years now, is open to any businesswomen whose company has strong growth potential and demonstrates innovation.
