ABERDEEN footballer Shaleum ‘Shay’ Logan is on a very different type of loan, as he swaps his football kit for a boiler suit to visit local engineering firm Bon Accord Radiators.

The Aberdeen right-back who currently serves an apprenticeship with local company Granite City Heating and Plumbing, visited Bon Accord Radiators to gain valuable experience working with industrial scale projects, supplementing his knowledge and adding a new string to his bow.

Currently Shay spends his time at Granite City Heating and Plumbing, focusing on the installation, repair and upgrade of central heating systems.

However, staff at Bon Accord Radiators have over 30 years’ experience delivering a broad range of services that span the manufacturing and repair of radiators and oil cooler, to heat exchanger maintenance and pressure testing. Having been given demonstrations of some of these services that Bon Accord Radiators specialise in, Shay will have a new layer of expertise in the pipeline, that he can take back to Granite City Heating and Plumbing.

Director at Bon Accord Radiators Mark Burrows said, “We were only to happy to share our knowledge with an Aberdeen legend of Shay’s stature. Having recently earned our ISO 9001 accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to quality for our customers.”

This in turn means that Shay will get an indepth look at all the challenging projects that we are currently working on. If his engineering knowledge is as impressive as his football skills, then we are certain he’ll be able to make great use of everything he’s learned from his time at Bon Accord Radiators”
