Aberdeen headquartered well engineering firm awarded Egypt contract

An Aberdeen-based well engineering and project management company has started work on a contract to provide well and completions engineering support in the Nile Delta in Egypt.

Zenith Energy, which provides a range of services to the oil and gas sector within the UK and internationally from its Aberdeen headquarters, has been awarded a contract by SDX Energy, following the successful completion of another project for the company earlier this year.

Zenith, which was established in 2012, will provide well and completions engineering support in the planning and operations of four onshore wells, consisting of two development wells and two exploration wells, in the Nile Delta.  It is the second contract Zenith has delivered for SDX on the project.

It is estimated that the work scope will take six to eight months to complete with Zenith staff working full-time on the project based in Cairo.  Additional management support and expertise is being provided from Zenith’s Aberdeen team.

Managing director of Zenith Energy, Martin Booth, said: “Having successfully completed the project management of an exploration well onshore in the Nile Delta for SDX in 2017 with zero HSE accidents or incidents, showcases our ability to deliver the correct technical and commercial solution for our clients.

“There is no better compliment and reference from a client, than to be awarded follow-on work.  We look forward to the successful completion of work on the second project for SDX.”

Since its establishment, Zenith has built its client base to more than 35 operators, with continued repeat business, going from a two-man team to a global organisation employing more than 40 people in Aberdeen, Australia and Abu Dhabi working on client projects across the world.

The firm provides specialist expertise for the complete well life cycle from the conceptual design phases through to field development planning, well operations, well intervention and well abandonments, using both rig and rig-less solutions.
