Aberdeen-headquartered XL Global Group in new acquisition to strengthen business

ATLANTIC XL announced today it has completed the acquisition of Canadian-based industrial engineering & automation Solutions (IEAS) for an undisclosed sum.

Atlantic XL with offices in St. John’s, NL is a division of XL Global Group, headquartered in Aberdeen, which works primarily in the areas of automation, communication, metering, fabrication and asset integrity.

A statement from XL Global Group, based in Blackburn, said the move would strengthen the business offering to the Canadian marketplace and will also provide market opportunities globally.

The deal brings the total number of XL Group staff in Canada to around 40.

Colin Laird, XL Global Group chief executive officer, said: “IEAS is an important addition to the XL Global group of companies.

“Working with Atlantic XL, they will offer a diversified portfolio that is well aligned with our vision for the area.

“IEAS’s products and services have a real synergy with our existing group portfolio, particularly our divisions in automation, safety systems and data acquisition for the oil, gas and utility sectors.”
