ABERDEEN International Airport is reflecting on a successful run of award wins after receiving the Sword of Honour title at the British Safety Awards, last week.
As the award name suggests, the airport was presented with a ceremonial sword at an event at Merchant Taylors’ Hall in London, where Aberdeen’s sister airport, Glasgow, was also recognised.

Presented by the British Safety Council, the honour rewards companies for their exemplary management of health, safety and environmental risks. Entries for the award are invite-only, based on companies with a five-star independent audit in occupational health and safety and environmental performance.
The sword is the latest award win in what has been a successful year for Aberdeen International Airport which was also took home the Working Together for Tourism title at the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards recently.
Additionally, the airport’s popular ‘Therapets’ canine crew were awarded with the Iain Whyte Memorial Award by the Canine Concern Scotland Trust recognising the contribution and impact the airport has made to the Trust.

“It adds to the awards that we’ve received recently which are a testament to the commitment, expertise and professionalism of the brilliant team we have here.”
