WITH food prices going up due to grocery inflation costs (7% from 5.9%), as well as increased energy bills affecting the cost of living, having a good, steady income is becoming a greater concern to UK workers who are struggling to make ends meet.
With money being tight for employees, analysis by Breakroom has revealed that workers in Aberdeen can earn above £9.50 – the national living wage (NLW) – and what types of jobs are considered ‘good’.

The analysis by the people-powered job board found that 74 out of 132 locations in the UK pay the same or above the NLW (56%), showing there’s huge room for improvement to increase employee pay as the cost of living rises.
However, the highest paying cities above the NLW were found to be: Oxford (£11.08), Aberdeen (£10.20), and Perth £10.19, with the lowest paying being Colchester (£9.03), Derry (£9.10), and Bradford (£9.15).
