Aberdeen Property Leasing (APL) has announced the acquisition of Stewart Property Services’ rental portfolio for an undisclosed sum, marking the latest milestone in the company’s ongoing growth strategy.

The acquisition follows APL’s purchase of Stronach’s lettings portfolio in late 2024 and further strengthens the position of the firm, which has been providing residential letting services in Aberdeen for more than 30 years.

APL currently employs 45 staff across its city centre headquarters, maintenance and laundry hubs. Over the past year, the business has also made significant investment in the implementation of an upgraded management system. The new platform is designed to support enhanced maintenance processes, alongside robust tenant referencing and compliance procedures – developments which joint owner, Eilidh Gilbert, believes will provide increased assurance for both existing and prospective landlords.

She comments: “Aberdeen Property Leasing has been a constant presence in the city’s residential lettings market since the early 1990s, establishing itself as one of the north east’s most trusted providers for landlords and tenants alike.

“Our acquisition of Stewart Property Services increases our managed portfolio by approximately 15%, at a time when demand for rental accommodation has rebounded and shows signs of outstripping supply, partly as a result of a subdued residential sales market.”

Joint owner, David Lamb adds: “In this market, APL’s extensive portfolio of properties, combined with a fully integrated, turnkey service covering the entire lettings lifecycle, from marketing and compliance through to ongoing servicing, maintenance and end-of-tenancy support, has cemented our position as the city’s largest independently owned residential leasing agency.”
