THE annual Thainstone Spectacular Show and sale of show calves will be held at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie on Friday, August 23, kicking off the start of the back-end sales period.
The event, which is sponsored by Blackadder’s Solicitors, has a total entry of 35 calves including 25 heifers and 10 bullocks.

The Show will take place from 10am in the Exchange with Stewart Bett, Boquhan Farmhouse, Kippen, Stirling judging the entries. The sale will commence from 2pm or immediately after the sale of store cattle.
John Angus, head of Livestock at Aberdeen’s Northern Marts, said “We are delighted to be hosting the event at Thainstone and it is great to see a good entry of top-quality calves forward many of which featured at the agricultural shows. We would also like to thank Blackadder Solicitors for their continued sponsorship and offering £2,500 worth of cash prizes for the event.”
At last year’s event the overall champion was awarded to a Limousin Cross Bullock from J S Ballie, Sebay, Tankerness, Orkney and the top price of £5,800 was paid for a Limousin Cross Heifer from the Robertson Family, Newton of Logierait, Pitlochry.
