ABERDEEN logistics management company ASCO has taken 100% control of fellow firm Norm Solutions in a “logical” expansionary move.
The acquired business was founded in 2012 as a joint venture between Asco and John Lawrie Group (JLG).

It specialises in cleaning, treatment and disposal services for dealing with oilfield equipment contaminated with naturally occurring radioactive materials (Norm).
Asco did not say how much it paid JLG, which is also headquartered in Aberdeen, for its 50% stake.
Chris Lloyd, Asco head of waste and decommissioning, said: “Our full acquisition of Norm Solutions Ltd is a logical move for Asco, allowing us to offer an ever-wider range of integrated services to our offshore and onshore clients. As the decommissioning sector continues to grow, our ability to provide safe Norm treatment and disposal services will remain critical to our overall service offering.
“We have enjoyed a positive working relationship with John Lawrie Group over the last eight years and we will continue to work with them as a trusted partner.”
Asco will retain the services of John Davidson in his current role of general manager of Norm Solutions, said Asco, which employs around 1,500 people across operations in more than 70 locations worldwide.
