Several major roadworks are taking place around Aberdeen in the summer months to replace road surfaces and repair potholes while weather conditions are good.
The capital road improvement works which total about £9,376,000 include several which have been completed already. In addition, the budget for repairing potholes around the city this financial year is £190,000.
Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “Roadworks are necessary to repair and improve roads.
“Many of the works are scheduled when the weather is better and also when traffic is at its lightest during school holidays, to cause the least amount of disruption. We understand they can be frustrating and ask motorists for their understanding and tolerance while roadworks are going on around Aberdeen.”
Aberdeen City Council Finance and Resources convener Councillor Alex McLellan/Net Zero said: “Aberdeen City Council is investing nearly £10 million annually to repairing and improving our cities roads and pavements to ensure the city continues to be a place people want to live, work, raise a family or do business.”
