ONE Aberdeen hospitality business is hoping to continue its growth after seeing 90% occupancy rates since the end of Spring.

Apartrooms, owned by Stuart Duncan, is a serviced apartment complex based in Marywell Park near Portlethen.

There is no reception and guests access their rooms directly from the car park, that has two electric vehicle charging points.

Stuart said: “Our concept was to support Aberdeen business and be part of the energy transition by providing a sustainable, streamlined service.

“It turns out that many of our innovations are also well suited to virus control.

“Our processes are contactless, with secure anytime PIN code-check in and no direct interaction with staff. We’ve intensified our cleaning regime between stays but guests have requested less cleaning and fewer linen changes during their visits.”

Stuart wants to see Aberdeen businesses thriving, including others in the hospitality sector.

He said: “The new regulations around food and alcohol are tough and I hope they get through it.

“It’s important for everyone that the city keeps enough visitor capacity to thrive as an industry hub and tourist destination.”
