Aberdeen software company Fennex has announced the promotion of Adam Shepherd to Product Development Lead for FennexSafe™, marking another milestone in both Adam’s progression and the continued evolution of the FennexSafe™ platform.

Over the past two years, Fennex has evolved from a bespoke software provider delivering niche solutions for large offshore oil and gas organisations into a scalable SaaS platform supporting companies across multiple industries and operational environments.

What began as a single safety observation module has developed into FennexSafe™, a connected platform with 13 integrated modules covering safety, risk, assurance, training and competency, incident management, document management, corrective actions, and more.

The platform was developed to address a common industry challenge: organisations either rely on fragmented paper-based, spreadsheet, and SharePoint-driven processes, or become locked into rigid enterprise systems that are expensive, complex, and difficult to adapt.

FennexSafe™ has gained growing interest by offering a flexible and modular alternative that combines streamlined operational processes with connected data insights, advanced analytics, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.

As the platform continues to expand, Fennex identified the need for dedicated product leadership to guide future development and ensure the platform continues evolving alongside customer needs, emerging technologies, and increasingly complex operational requirements.

Adam is well positioned for the role, having joined Fennex in 2022 when the company had around 10 employees. Since then, he has progressed through multiple engineering and leadership positions, most recently serving as Team Lead overseeing the development of several of Fennex’s most complex bespoke solutions, including Extreme Weather Management and Operational Risk Assessment systems for major energy clients.

His experience provides a strong understanding of both the technical and operational challenges faced by high-risk industries, helping ensure FennexSafe™ continues to scale in a way that remains practical, flexible, and aligned with real customer needs.

In his new role, Adam will lead the continued development of FennexSafe™, focusing on scalability, customer-driven innovation, and the expansion of new modules and capabilities across the platform.

“Adam has played a significant role in both the technical development of our solutions and the wider growth of the business over the past few years. As FennexSafe™ continues to evolve, having dedicated product leadership focused on scalability, innovation, and customer needs is a major step f
