The Fennex team secured its place among the winners thanks to the design and implementation of its breakthrough digital solution which is enhancing the offshore industry’s safety reporting process.

The AI-powered BBSS™ (Behavioural Based Safety Solution) software harnesses the transformative power of digital tech to improve how safety observations are done across the oil and gas industry.   The solution offers a clear and agile system that provides unprecedented speed and transparency to pursue excellence in safety performance.

According to OGUK, Fennex is described as “a trailblazer with passion to speed-up the energy sector’s digital transformation.”

Securing the winning places in these prestigious Awards comes amid a period of sustained growth for Fennex and marks a significant milestone in its expansion strategy as the team continues its focus on attracting local talent.

The Fennex team is delighted to have been recognised for its role in assisting the transition toward a digital future, “To be seen as a leader in breakthrough technologies to advance safety performance in the energy sector is a very proud moment for all of us at Fennex,” said Adrian Brown, Fennex Managing Director.

“We were honoured to sit alongside an impressive list of major global firms as we continue our work to support the needs of an industry embracing the digital revolution.

“To be hailed as winners in Business Innovation and HSE Innovation is a wonderful endorsement of our team’s dedication to the investment in R&D.

“We would like to extend our thanks to both the OGUK and OWI Awards judging panels for their recognition.”

Fennex, founded in 2016, based its submission on the successful collaboration with its partner firm Noble Drilling. Fennex’s cutting-edge digital solution transformed the Offshore Safety Observation Process across a global fleet, significantly enhancing the safety culture and delivering efficiencies that exceeded expectations.

The pioneering BBSSTM system is a cloud-based intuitive platform that allows for live data processing and streaming of safety observation, with real-time monitoring of critical safety trends and indicators. The insights gained from these metrics provide clear, actionable tasks, leading to quicker decision making. This helps to mitigate risks and prevent hazards and, ultimately, enhances People’s safety.

To allow for varying levels of digital readiness across diverse company structures, the BBSSTM solution includes both an app for mobile phone and tablet use offshore and a paper card specifically designed for conversion to digital data using machine learning.

“Our achievements in these Awards would not have been possible without the unfaltering support and commitment of our forward-thinking, visionary clients,” added Adrian. “Huge thanks to Noble Drilling for driving the digital innovation to advance a sustainable, safer industry.”

OGUK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. The Awards celebrate the best and brightest the industry has to offer. This year’s awards attracted 90 nominees across eight different award categories.

Organised by Offshore Network, the OWI Awards celebrate the very best in global well intervention excellence. Offshore Network is an independent provider of business intelligence for the offshore well intervention community.
