Aberdeen-based Bon Accord Heritage welcomes Bubbles to Dolphin to Bon Accord Baths. Having spent many years at Beach Leisure Centre and Carnoustie Golf Club, Phil and Shona Hunter kindly donated Bubbles to honour the late Alexander Sim Wadsworth, who had previously
been an attendant at Bon Accord Baths.

Designed and painted by local artist, Fiona Chance, Bubbles the dolphin was part of the 2014 Wild Dolphins trail. The life size dolphins were sold by auction, raising £531,000 for local charity, ARCHIE Foundation, and The Whale and Dolphin Conservation charity
(The WDC).

Inspired by the culture, history and natural beauty of the north-east, Bubbles tells the story of Aberdeenshire, through images such as an oil rig, a Highland cow, the Heraldry of Aberdeen and a caber thrower. Fiona has kindly offered to refresh Bubbles so
it can be enjoyed for years to come.

Commenting on the donation, Board Trustee, Richard Wolfe, said: “We are immensely proud to be the new home for Bubbles the Dolphin, and are pleased to honour the late Alexander Sim Wadsworth who was a former pool attendant at the Baths. We extend our sincere
thanks to Phil and Shona for their kind donation.

“Bubbles has taken pride of place in the main reception area so that they can be seen by all of our visitors.”

The public will have the opportunity to visit Bubbles the Dolphin and explore Bon Accord Baths on the 7th of September, during Aberdeen Doors Open Day. Throughout the event there will be musical performances including violinist Ming Hui, harp ensemble ‘Harps
Accord’, and the Mearns Singers choir.
