Cancer support charity Maggie’s is inviting people to take part in Culture Crawl and see Aberdeen in a whole new light while raising vital funds to help people living with cancer.

More than 150 people have already signed up for the 10k sponsored walk that will take in local iconic and cultural highlights on 3rd September 2021. This year’s route will be stopping at new venues, and supporters are urged to sign up without delay to avoid missing out.

Those taking part will raise crucial funds to help Maggie’s provide free practical, emotional, and psychological support for people living with cancer – support that is needed now more than ever.

“You don’t forget what happened, the grief never stops, but seeing the togetherness of everyone at Culture Crawl was a special, humbling, and really enjoyable experience.” Furzana

After Furzana’s partner died, she found the support she needed at Maggie’s where she met a close group of friends through the Bereavement Support Group. The group took part in Culture Crawl to raise money for Maggie’s and make sure people with cancer, as well as family and friends, get the vital support they need.

‘Culture Crawlers’ will enjoy a route around the city centre with visits to venues for food, fun and entertainment along the way. Maggie’s Aberdeen Centre Head Kevin Mathieson said: “We are delighted to once again welcome people to take part in our famous Culture Crawl.

“It has always been a highlight of the year for us, with a fantastic warm, friendly and fun atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity for people to get together with friends and family to enjoy a different kind of night out! Importantly it helps us raise the funds we need to support people living with cancer.

“Facing cancer is often one of the most difficult experiences of a person’s life. For many, the lockdown restrictions have made it even harder, which means our professional support is needed even more now than before.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already signed up and to those who take the remaining places.”
