Ellon-based Oat Co Scotland has secured a role with supermarket chain Tesco as the sole supplier of their own brand free-from oats product for stores across the UK.

Built on generations of farming, the family-run company prides itself on dedicated gluten-free operations and a state-of-the-art, custom-built oat mill, producing a consistent oat product.

Farmers and founder’s The Booth and Russell families, take pride in their gluten-free oat product and take responsibility at every step — from planting the grain to cultivating the crop — ensuring oats that are as clean and pure as possible.

The group’s free-from oats are now available in Tesco stores across the UK, offering customers a gluten-free alternative, as well as a taste of some of the very best in Scottish-grown produce.

Andrew Booth, Co-Founder of Oat Co Scotland, said: “The North East of Scotland offers exceptional conditions for growing oats, and it’s our family farms that make the difference — caring for the land, farming responsibly, and producing oats that are naturally rich in fibre. Every grain we supply to Oat Co comes directly from our own gluten-free farms, keeping our supply chain short and transparent, and reducing food miles. Working closely with the land and the environment is central to what we do, and Tesco’s commitment to working directly with farmers who share those values is something we strongly value and welcome across the industry.”

“We take time to source the best seed, carefully select fields, tend the growing crops and use dedicated machinery for harvest, transport and processing. We are proud to be a trusted supplier of pure Scottish, gluten-free oats and we’re thrilled that Tesco shoppers across the UK are now able to enjoy our homegrown produce.”

Lee Richards, Buying Manager for Tesco, said: “One of the best parts of my job is supporting local suppliers and helping bring their fantastic products to shelves across the country. Oat Co Scotland is a brilliant example of Scottish innovation and tradition, made by passionate farmers who put generations of experience into growing the very best oats that we’re proud to be able to share with our customers.”
