Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to market the Frogmore Cattery in Ellon, Aberdeenshire.

Located near the popular market town of Ellon, Frogmore Cattery is one of the area’s most respected and long‑established boarding catteries, attracting clients from across the North East of Scotland and beyond to its idyllic rural setting.

Seen as the benchmark for new catteries, Frogmore is fully licensed to accommodate up to 60 cats in 27 large pens, and has a car park for 12 cars, reception area, food preparation area, large storage room, toilet and laundry room.

Alongside the cattery business, a stunning detached bungalow set within the same private grounds is up for sale, offering an ideal live‑and‑work arrangement.

Having owned the cattery since 2008, Susan Barrowman has decided to sell the property and enjoy a well-earned retirement.

Susan said, “We built the Cattery in 2008 from scratch. We had our own cats and couldn’t find anywhere suitable to look after them when we went on holiday, so we designed and built our ideal cattery, and following the initial building, due to demand, we built an additional 12 pens.

“The success of the business has come from word-of-mouth recommendations, and we’re running between 70 and 80% occupancy now. People will go the distance to have us care for their cats. However, we now need to retire and would like to spend more time with our family.”

Martin Ward, Business Agent – Retail at Christie & Co is managing the sale process and commented, “We expect this opportunity to appeal to someone looking to enjoy a quiet rural life, in a peaceful location, whilst operating a well-respected business and being part of a fantastic local community.”

The Frogmore Cattery and detached bungalow is on the market with an asking price of £495,000.
