Hiretech, which employs 25 members of staff at its headquarters in Fintray, has achieved significant overseas trade specifically across Africa, the Caspian, Norway and South East Asia.

The firm’s management team plans to continue to increase its foothold overseas, up to 40% towards its annual turnover, as part of wider strategic growth plans.

Commenting on the win, Andy Buchan, Hiretech chief executive officer and founder, said:  “We are delighted to receive a Queen’s Award, it is a great honour and reflects the significant achievement of the business in export markets around the globe.

“This award reflects the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication the team employs to grow the business in international markets.

“I am so proud of what we have achieved in ten years of business.  To receive this accolade in our tenth anniversary year makes it even more special.”

Hiretech offers equipment rental and personnel supply to the energy and marine industries, to support hydraulics, well service, pipeline, chemical cleaning, decommissioning, subsea and renewable activities with a wide range of pumps, umbilical reels and ancillary equipment.

The firm is one of 220 organisations nationally to be recognised with the prestigious accolade. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, recognising and celebrating business excellence across the UK.

This is the first Queen’s Award to be awarded to Hiretech, and will be presented to the company by the Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire in the coming months, followed by a royal reception for Queen’s Awards winners at Buckingham Palace later in the year.
