PHIL Anderson, company founder and MD at Phil Anderson Financial Services (PAFS), is set to release the 100th episode of his podcast ‘The UK Personal Finance Show,’ as total downloads of the series reach 66,253.
Launched in August 2020, the weekly podcast features radio host John Mellis interviewing Phil to discuss different aspects of personal finance, making these important topics more engaging and accessible.

Within a year the podcast ranked top on Apple Podcast and consistently placed between number one and number two in the UK for personal finance, rapidly growing in popularity. On the anniversary of the first episode, the podcast was averaging 1,350 downloads a month. In its second year this figure multiplied to 7,000 downloads last month.
The podcast reflects the range of services offered by PAFS across an ever-expanding customer base, including mortgages, pensions and investments. It also targets topics such as financial advice for Christmas, university funding, divorce planning, and financial help for miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.

I want to ensure we cover topics and provide advice for every financial situation anyone may find themselves in. At present my favourite podcast to record has been ‘Saving for Holidays’ mainly because I love holidays myself, but it’s important for everyone to get that work and life balance. “

The UK Personal Finance Show has featured a number of industry experts to discuss various financial topics including Wendy Fleming from charity ‘Ditch Debt with Dignity’, Hamish Malcolm on self-build mortgages, and Justin Dunne on secured loans.
The average podcast downloads per episode is 142 episodes in the UK, however their top ranking episode – discussing the top 10 steps to buying a new home – ranked 1,766. Their second ranking episode was episode 68, regarding buy to let, and one of their most recent episodes – Financial planning for beginners – has hit 1,392 downloads.
PAFS achieved a turnover of £1.42million in 2021, a 29% increase from 2020 resulting in their best financial performance since launching in 2010. The financial firm is headquartered in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, and now has offices across Aberdeenshire as well as Caithness, Dundee, and recently expanded to England with their York office.
