David Littlewood, owner and chef of Kildrummy Inn, commented:
“We are on cloud nine to hear we are finalists in the Aberdeen City and Shire Thistle Awards for Best Hotel Experience. Coming so soon after finding out we’d scooped the AA Scottish Inn of the Year it feels like huge recognition for the hard work and dedication of our small, local team, which always goes the extra mile to make our guests feel special. We are passionate about showcasing the best of Aberdeenshire, from the food and drink we serve to the activities and attractions we recommend.”
He added: “We are also committed to responsible tourism and reducing our environmental impact. We use local and organic produce, minimise waste, provide EV charging points, and support local community groups and initiatives. We want our guests to enjoy the beauty and heritage of this area and to leave with a lasting impression.”
Kildrummy Inn, which only last week won the AA Inn of the Year Scotland 2024, offers four luxurious rooms, a renowned restaurant, a private dining room, a whisky snug, and a bar. The inn is set in a historic building dating back to 1828 and has stunning views of the countryside. Guests can enjoy fishing on the River Don, exploring the local castles, distilleries, and museums, or relaxing by the fire in the lounge.
The winners of the Aberdeen City and Shire Thistle Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Friday 20 September at The Chester Hotel. The regional winners will then go on to represent Aberdeen City and Shire at the national final of the Scottish Thistle Awards in November 2024.
