AN Aberdeenshire-based specialist engineering firm has appointed a new managing director as it looks towards driving the business forward.
Colin Mayer, who was previously group director of Dron & Dickson, takes over the role at R & M Engineering from Alan McLean who will move into the position of commercial director.

Mr Maver said: “I am delighted to be joining the R&M team at a time when we are ready to take our specialist solutions to new markets.
“There is undoubted growth potential as we look to develop a range of services and with the strong leadership team in place, it is an exciting time to join the company.”
Throughout his career, Mr Maver played an integral role in domestic and international expansion, steering overseas growth and opening new offices in South Africa, Brazil, US and UAE.

R&M Engineering, based in Huntly, was established in 1979 and employs 80 staff.
