Aberdein Considine has boosted its dispute resolution team with the appointment of a new solicitor advocate.

The appointment of Carly Stewart as an Associate follows the firm’s hire of litigation expert Euan McSherry in December to lead the Dispute Resolution Practice Group.

Carly, who has 15 years’ experience, joined the firm from Clyde & Co, qualifying as a Solicitor Advocate in 2011.

As a Solicitor Advocate Carly has rights of audience in both the Court of Session and the UK’s Supreme Court, and specialises in civil litigation.

Much of Carly’s career has been spent in Aberdeen advising oil and gas related clients as well as those in the construction industry, however she has also developed extensive experience within the insurance sector, involving property damage claims, employers’ liability and public liability.

Aberdein Considine offers property, legal and financial services to private and commercial clients across Scotland and the north of England.

It works with global banking giants such as Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group, as well as major high street retailers such as Greggs PLC.

Following a number of acquisitions, the firm has been heavily focusing on expanding its legal teams and specialisms throughout the country.

Euan McSherry, Partner and of Head Dispute Resolution at Aberdein Considine said:

“Carly brings a wealth of experience and technical knowledge in the field of litigation and we’re delighted she is joining our growing team.

“With continued uncertainty ahead of us, firms in all sectors are increasingly looking for guidance on how to protect and grow their businesses. Carly’s appointment adds to the expertise which we already have in the Group and ensures we are well equipped to support our clients when and where they need us.”

Twenty of the firm’s lawyers were ranked and received personal recommendations in the 2018 edition of the Legal 500. The firm has been recognised for its Corporate and Commercial Law, Commercial Property, Commercial Litigation, Employment Law and Family Law work. For the fourth year running the firm has also been awarded the coveted “Top Tier” status in the field of Debt Recovery.
