For the past five years Turriff-headquartered ACE Winches has been monitoring the needs of the Scandinavian market and client base in order to satisfy supply and demand.

The firm is a global leader in the design, manufacture and hire of winches, marine deck machinery and the provision of associated hire personnel for the offshore oil and gas, marine and renewable energy industries.

Last year, ACE Winches Norge AS relocated to quayside facilities in the sheltered straits of Karmsundet, which is well positioned for vessels travelling between Bergen and Stavanger.

The new facilities include a workshop, office and 750 metres of deep water quayside vessel berthing. This has enabled the branch to mobilise, de-mobilise and conduct spooling operations directly for existing and prospective clients. It offers the full range of ACE services and products including the hire and manufacture of, standard and bespoke, winch packages and deck machinery applications.

Alongside a new office, 2014 saw the firm bring new products to the Scandinavian market including Reel Drive Systems and Linear Winches, thanks to “considerable investment.”

This month, ACE Winches is celebrating the fifth anniversary of this expanding international branch. The firm says it will continue to deliver engineering excellent and tailored solutions to an international client base.

Graham Thomson, Chief Operations Officer, said: “The Scandinavian market is an extremely important and ever-increasing part of our business portfolio. Our strategy which encompassed introducing new products and services to this area has resulted in securing several long term contracts with some of the major operators and contractors in the region.

“These quick wins provide us with the encouragement that delivering high spec quality products and services in today`s tough economic environment is exactly what our clients are demanding.”
