FAMILY-owned and Aberdeenshire-headquartered business ACE Winches has announced its expansion into the Middle East with a new location and key hire in Dubai.

The opening of the new office marks a significant milestone for the company, as the organisation continues to expand its presence in the Middle East. ACE Winches have been operating in the region for several years, but strong customer demand for its products and services prompted the move to set-up a base.

Operating in more than 50 countries, spanning 6 continents, ACE specialise in the design, manufacture, and hire of winches, marine deck machinery, and the provision of associated hire personnel. Earlier this year, they announced an increase in turnover to l28.3m, as the company continues its drive to offer high-end engineering solutions and equipment to the offshore oil and gas, marine and renewable energy industries.

Leading the expansion in the Middle East is new Regional Manager, Ross Anderson, who recently returned to the business, and is spearheading operations in the area, bringing over 15 years’ experience in the energy industry, and a track record of delivering business growth in international markets. Ross is looking to further establish ACE Winches’ global footprint, with a physical presence in the Middle East, Caspian, Far East and Australia regions.

He says of the development, “We are bringing our industry-leading knowledge, expertise, and first class equipment to market, to ease accessibility for our customers, by strategically creating hubs in key logistical areas. This will ensure we can support, deliver and offer high quality equipment and resources within key market regions.”

“ACE Winches recently provisioned a 550te SWL Linear Winch package, in support of a shore pull on Hail Island, located in the Arabian Gulf, offshore of Abu Dhabi. The project was executed safely by our team of experienced offshore technicians and project engineers. After successfully completing the shore pull within the client’s timeframe, ACE were awarded the second phase of the job, involving a shore pull on the other end of the pipeline, near Mubaraz Island. Our strength is working with our clients to create high-end, bespoke engineering solutions for complex projects.”
