Aberdeen is set to become a hub of vibrant musical fusion with the upcoming Afro Indie Series (AIS), presented by Raven AfriKulture in collaboration with Deja Vu Lounge. Scheduled for 9th November 2024, this event promises an exciting exploration of Afrobeat, soul, and alternative R&B, showcasing emerging Afro-indie talent.

Themed “Telling Our Stories, In Our Voices,” the Afro Indie Series aims to provide a platform for artists to share their personal stories and cultural experiences through music. The event will take place at Deja Vu Lounge, offering attendees an intimate and soulful experience.

Headlining the event is Tim Lyre, a dynamic singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Nigeria. Known for his unique blend of Afrobeat, soul, and alternative R&B, Tim Lyre’s music explores themes of love, identity, and self-discovery. His performances are expected to bring both emotional depth and infectious rhythms to the stage. Joining Tim Lyre are some of Aberdeen’s finest musical talents:

These artists embody the essence of Aberdeen’s Afro-indie scene, celebrating identity, culture, and community through their music. The evening will be hosted by Lanre Shonubi, the “Radio god” from London, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.
