AIKEN, a Global E&C business, has appointed Baptiste Gougeon to the role of Business Director for its modular outfitting and refurbishment business.

Aberdeen-based Aiken provides architectural, modular and heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) engineering design, manufacturing, construction and commissioning solutions to its onshore and offshore customers.

Baptiste’s appointment comes as the business looks to position itself for growth in the energy transition space, in line with the strategic intent of Global E&C, while continuing to support its customers in the traditional markets.

Baptiste will build on the strong heritage of Aiken in engineering, design and project delivery to create innovative, connected and sustainable solutions for its customers to succeed in the energy transition agenda.

Global E&C’s Chief Executive Officer, Terry Allan, commented: ‘As part of our strategic growth plans for energy transition, we’re delighted to share this announcement as our Aiken business is set to make an aggressive play into battery storage and hydrogen power generation.  Baptiste has a proven record of delivering on our strategic intent and has brought a wealth of experience in new energy ventures, needed to accelerate Aiken’s aspiration to support existing and new customers across markets.’

Global E&C’s is already helping its customers in executing energy transition projects that help cut flaring and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from older assets by optimising or replacing equipment.

Global E&C is also in the early stages of helping operators assess whether it would be commercially viable to power their platforms with electricity from green energy sources, such as wind farms, located onshore or offshore.

On his new role, Baptiste added: ‘these are exciting times for us as a business as we’re able to build on the existing skills and knowledge from Aiken to make progress and key collaborations to further decarbonise the energy landscape.’

A Chartered Mechanical Engineer, Baptiste has over 14 years of experience working within the energy industry across engineering, projects and operational roles for both operators and service providers.

Since joining Global E&C in 2020, Baptiste began as contract manager and has more recently been involved with leading the company’s Operational Discipline strategy and delivering in line with its growth aspirations and organisational evolution.
